2018 Digital Essay Competition Marking and Judging Process Underway

The 2018 Digital Essay Competition (DEC) has come to a close with many schools and students taking part. The competition was open to all students from Grade 5 to Form 4 in English, Kiswahili, French, and Art categories. They were to write about “How can technology bring us closer to quality education for all?” or in Kiswahili, “Ni vipi teknolojia inaweza kutufikisha karibu na elimu bora kwa wote.” or in French, “Comment la technologie peut-elle nous rapprocher d’une education de qualité pour tous?

We are now getting into the marking and Judging process where we do it in two stages. The first stage, we invite renowned teachers from all over the country who are also experienced invigilators and markers of the Kenyan national exams.

After they select the best in each category, we then invite editors and writers from our partner publishing firms who choose the best of the best to be awarded computing devices, certificates, trophies, gift hampers and scholarships. We wish all participating students, all the best.

 

2018 DEC timeline is as follows: 

  • First and Second Judging month of August
  • DEC Prize Giving 26th September at Nairobi International Book Fair, Sarit Centre Nairobi
