2019 Digital Essay Competition Marking and Judging Process Underway

The 2019 Digital Essay Competition (DEC) came to a close on 8th August 2019 with many schools and students taking part. The competition was open to all Upper Primary and Secondary School Students in English, Kiswahili, French, and Art categories. They were to answer the question: “Think of a problem in your school: How can technology help solve that problem?” This year we’ve received over 13,500 essays.

We have finalized on the first judging process of shortlisting the top essays in English, Kiswahili, French, and Art categories. The judging was done by teachers from all over the country who have wide experience in invigilating and marking the Kenyan national exams.

We are now getting to the second and final judging process which will be done by a panel of distinguished judges that includes leading Kenyan educators and leaders from the public sector, private sector, and senior ministry offices. The judges will choose the best essays and winners will be awarded computing devices, certificates, trophies, gift hampers, and scholarships.

2019 DEC Timelines:
